HIGH ALTITUDE NATURALS™ Bitter Orange essential oil is expressed from the fruit peel of Citrus Aurantium (Seville orange) tree, native to Asia, and offers various skin and health benefits.
One of the main benefits of bitter orange is its cleansing capability. It cleanses dirt, oily and impurities from the skin, calming and balancing — yet it doesn’t strip the skin as can some harsh over-the-counter synthetic formulas.
This oil is useful for acneic, oily, and problem skin.
Bitter orange is high in vitamin C (a precursor to collagen) and also provides some calcium and vitamin A, making it essential for skin integrity and repairs. After using a formula with bitter orange, skin feels balanced, refreshed, and ready for miniaturization.
Research shows Bitter Orange oil to be effective for several skin issues, including ringworm, jock itch, and athlete's foot. Some studies have demonstrated bitter orange oil as a fungicide when applied topically, fighting against conditions that are otherwise resistant to treatment. As an added bonus, there are very few (if any) noted negative side effects to the external application of bitter orange, suggesting that it can be used with little risk. In alternative medicine, bitter orange is also sometimes applied topically in an effort to speed the healing of bedsores.
The peel, flower, leaf, fruit, and fruit juice of the Bitter orange tree are used to make medicine and cosmetic preparations. Used in Aromatherapy, along with Neroli essential oil (which comes from the blossoms of bitter orange) might improve emotions and mental symptoms of PMS in healthy, young women.
Warning: Not for internal consumption. Topical application only advised. This oil can make skin more sensitive to UV rays, so the use sunscreen and sun protection clothing to protect skin is advised after applying Bitter orange extracts on skin.
