Violet Flower Absolute Oil (Viola odorata)

Soft, sweet, powdery, and floral — a classic violet absolute valued for perfume making, solid perfumes, and botanical formulations.

Our Violet Flower Absolute (Viola odorata) is a rare aromatic material derived from delicate violet blossoms and leaves. It offers a sweet floral aroma with soft, sweet, green, powdery, and lightly woody undertones, making it a key ingredient in both classic and modern fragrance design.

Unlike violet leaf, which is sharper and greener, violet flower absolute provides a smooth, romantic floral profile often associated with vintage perfumes, cosmetic powders, and soft floral blends. It is widely used in natural perfumery, solid perfume balms, and high-end cosmetic formulations.

Ideal for:
violet perfume making, floral fragrance design, solid perfumes, botanical skincare, powdery floral accords, and natural fragrance blends.

Is this real Violet?

I didn't know Violet Flower Absolute even existed, most resources claim the fragrance can only be captured through Enfleurage (perhaps now, also with CO2).

Regardless of whether or not this is a true absolute from violet flowers, it is quite lovely material. It's not a true match to the natural violet fragrance, but it presents a facet of it that is alluring - powdery and soft, with an underlying green quality, and everything sweetens in the drydown. I got about three days of persistence on the strip.
