What is Dragon’s Blood Essential Oil?

It is an aromatic oil steam-distilled from the red fruit resin of Daemonorops draco, a Southeast Asian rattan palm. It is purchased for natural perfumery, aromatherapy, massage and ceremonial blends.

What does Daemonorops draco oil smell like?

It has an herbal, spicy and resinous aroma with smoky and earthy undertones, making it especially appealing for incense, amber, forest and ceremonial fragrance compositions.

Is this the same as Dragon’s Blood fragrance oil?

No. This is steam-distilled from Daemonorops draco fruit resin. Many dragon’s blood fragrance oils are manufactured scent blends with sweeter perfume profiles.

Can Dragon’s Blood Essential Oil be used in perfume?

Yes. It adds smoky, earthy and resinous botanical depth to natural perfumes, colognes, incense accords and woody or amber fragrances.

Is Daemonorops draco the same as Croton lechleri?

No. Both are called dragon’s blood, but Daemonorops draco is a Southeast Asian rattan palm while Croton lechleri is a South American tree. Their oils, sources and aromatic profiles are different.

How is the essential oil different from Dragon’s Blood resin chunks?

The essential oil is a liquid aromatic material for perfumery, diffusers and diluted topical blends. Resin chunks are the solid raw botanical material traditionally selected for incense, crafts, infusions and ceremonial uses.

For external aromatic and cosmetic use only. Do not ingest or apply undiluted. Dilute appropriately before topical use, avoid contact with eyes and keep out of reach of children and pets.

Not was I was expecting. I’m looking for something that resembles Dracaena fragrans, but this is terrible. Smells like the devil’s burnt sauna towel.
